Solar ROI Check was built with a simple goal: give homeowners and businesses the tools they need to evaluate solar energy as a financial decision — without the sales pitch. Too many people make solar decisions based on a single installer quote or anecdotal advice. We believe that everyone deserves access to clear, unbiased data before committing to one of the largest home improvement investments they'll ever make.
What We Build
We develop free, browser-based calculators that help you understand your solar return on investment in minutes. Our residential calculator factors in your local sun exposure, system size, installation cost, and electricity rate to estimate payback period, 20-year savings, and environmental impact. Commercial tools — including MACRS depreciation modeling and ITC analysis — are currently in development.
Beyond calculators, we publish articles and FAQs covering everything from choosing an installer to understanding net metering policy. All content is written to be practical, honest, and jargon-free.
Who We Are
Solar ROI Check is an independent information resource. We are not affiliated with any solar installer, manufacturer, or financing company. Our tools are free to use, and we are transparent about how we generate revenue — through clearly labeled advertising and, in some cases, affiliate referral links to vetted services. We never accept payment to alter our editorial content or calculator methodology.
